As part of the City’s Sustainable Mobility Plan, last week representatives from several major universities met with the Department of Transportation to sign an agreement to promote and facilitate bike use among their students.
Andrés Fingeret, Director of ITDP Argentina, and Secretary of Transportation Guillermo Dietrich spoke to the group about the many benefits of using bicycles for transport. Now that the city has 65 km completed of the rapidly expanding network of protected bike lanes, more and more people are choosing to use bicycles to get around the city. These universities will encourage their many students to do the same.
The meeting took place at the Our Cities Ourselves (Nuestras Ciudades, Nuestro Futuro) exhibit currently on view at the MARQ museum of architecture in Buenos Aires.
